LOOKS LIKE THE QUALITY OF THE ENGINEERING AND FABRICATION ARE TOP NOTCH. IT IS OBVIOUS THAT THIS BUILDER KNOWS WHATS GOING ON. TAKE A LOOK AT HIS WORK AND HIS SHOP. SOME PEOPLE LOOK AT THESE PICTURES AND SAY "WELL LOOK AT HIS SHOP HE HAS ALL THE EQUIPMENT SO HIS STUFF SHOULD LOOK THAT GOOD." EXCEPT I CAN TELL YOU FROM EXPERIENCE THAT IT AINT THAT EASY. ANYONE THAT LOOKS AT THIS BIKE SHOULD BE INSPIRED TO DO WORK OF THAT CALIBER. JUST BECAUSE YOU DON'T HAVE ALL THE EQUIPMENT DOESN'T MEAN YOU CAN'T STRIVE TO BE BETTER. I HAVE SEEN ALOT OF REALLY NICE RACE CARS, CUSTOM CARS, AND CUSTOM BIKES COME FROM BARE BONES SHOPS THAT REALLY ALL THEY HAVE IS THE BASICS. WHAT THEY DON'T HAVE IN EQUIPMENT THEY MAKE UP FOR IN TALENT. REMEMBER MONEY DOES NOT REPLACE TALENT.GREAT BUILD AND HOPE TO SEE MORE FROM THIS GUY.-BIG MIKE |

This bike is awesome! Your friend has some serious talent. I hope we can see pictures of the completion. I bet he could sell a few of these bikes at a good price (read expensive) quite easily.
mpr455's comment could not be more true. I have seen very good work come out of a sparsly equipped shops and I have seen garbage come out of shops with every tool and machine imaginable. Reel Adventure's friend took quite some time to get all the details right, and the proper equipment helps speed up the process and reduce waste.
Having the proper tools will not always make up for lack of talent and craftsmanship.
This guy seems to have all three for sure! |

| | Re: A friend of mine's first build. WOW! Really nicely done! And very Pope-esque. You could, in a subtle way, suggest he drill holes in his rear sprocket and suggest he dump a lot of money in a nice seat.
Love seeing these done well.
As has been said, to do it right doesn't take all the best tools - just a lot of time, patience, and attention to detail.
Certainly he should join - for the compliments to motivate him if for nothing else.
Keep us informed!

I rode it and it is sweet.
I aked him to sign up and post, we will see.
Also see that model a in the back ground? All he had was the firewall and he built the entire rest of the cab and bed by scratch. Yes you read that right all hand built from scratch! | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
