| | Morini Time! Full sus project! Well where to start I will be using Kenda down hill 26x2.7 steel beaded tires. The bigger tires like these have always been my favorite Which leads to a more pressing problem . Build a new rear end from scratch or make this one work. I don't think I am really set up to build one from scratch I have never done it before. So heres what I am toying with. The tires were a great score I bought them in bulk cheap!

| | Re: Morini Time! Full sus project! Here are some other rear ends for sus. Problem is they will not accept a 26x2.7 tire so they are sorta out of the question. All suggestions welcome there is always someone with a different approach.

| | Re: Morini Time! Full sus project! I sorta always wanted to brutally butcher a Cruiser bike ha ha. Something different. After more research and consideration I will not be using a j shaft on this. Just too many rpms. Got with Dean hes a great guy to talk with. You can tell he's very busy! I am using the same tuned pipe as the production model and there top hat rear brake design. Just ordered this morning. I am considering a 51 tooth rear sprocket with the 26x2.7 tire. I think it will be gamier.
Now as for input is concerned? I am not sure yet what I wanna use for a pivot. The pivot will put put as close to the engine sprocket as I can get it. I have a assortment of springs here 200,550, and 800 pound . Just still pondering.

| | Re: Morini Time! Full sus project! I am not currently set up to weld aluminum and I do not really trust aluminum. I wanna build this right once and enjoy it for miles to come without worrying. I got a good wire feed welder a lincholn here that works really nice. So my whole theme is going to be steel. Other pressing matters for me will be a way to do it and make everything straight as a whistle? What materials do I use for a pivot point that is bullet proof? Any Ideas?
This Is the one I want to use. My take on it is one I can weld on it. The other the pivot point can be put in a different place than where it originally was designed. I could sorta copy the design that Pipeline has.Compared to your bike mine looks pretty crappy. Yet in no way is mine gonna look quite as clean as yours . Least thats my take on things at the moment. This rear end is a steel one. I figure build it outward 4 inches from the pivot point and put a shock about the same place as Pipeline's mine will probely be at more of an angle though.

| | Re: Morini Time! Full sus project! I wish I could help but you are way past anything I know anything about. I have a similar problem with front tires. I bought four 2.25 tires designed for a specific bike I think. I have tried them on several bikes. One or two did okay but most forks rub them. I know they are a standard cruiser size but for some reason they just won't work. Bummer.
Oh well. |

| | Re: Morini Time! Full sus project! Putting my picts on here and staring at them has helped me . This would be a pain in the but . I think if I make a way of standing the bike up staight I can use strings and gravety to measure a jig so to speak. That would get it totally straight . Once I set somthing up like that I might make another out of the other rear ends.

| | Re: Morini Time! Full sus project! The shock absorber can't be just mounted somewhere. I have observed this from looking at diff builds and riding owning full sus bikes. It has to follow a circular pattern that is the mechanics of the moving parts . Sure there is a plus or minus tolerance. Yet perfection in my mind wants it one the money! More picts tomorrow night maybe it I don't get to many responsibilitys before then LOL.
