I was wondering the same.

You Know I had not thought of that....Maybe use the Black Schedule 80 PVC pipe instead of 40 or like 2" it will make it pretty strong.

After I get all my other Crap done I'm going to try to build one of theese I have a heck of a time with bending down to work on crap anymore. my Knees hate the bending. There also is another satnd that straps to a work bench top I willtry to find that on as well and post a link.

Could probably just use some iron pipe if you REALLY need that stability

I think 1.5" PVC would probably hold up just fine. Especially if there are no long horizontal spans.
