 49cc 2-stroke staggers with wide open throttle
Hey everyone, I'm new here and I think this site is an excellent idea. I just bought and installed the cheapie Chinese 49cc 2-stroke and everthing works fine with the exception of the usual irritations like the gears whining, the clutch cable hard to pull, etc.
I was hoping someone could help me out with a problem I'm having with top speed or wide open throttle. The engine starts to fall on it's face or staggers like it's starving for more fuel. I can only think of the main jet needing to be a size or two larger. I'm very familiar with engine mods, that's what I do for a side job, so I'm just wondering if anyone else has noticed this. I've adjusted the slide needle, ported the intake tube so that it matches the cylinder, trimmed the intake and exhaust gaskets so they are flush with the openings instead of blocking flow.
I'm out of ideas and don't know where to get main jets for these motors. Are there even any available?
