You may be starting on the wrong end of things if yer talking about drilling the stock air filter - then jumping right to a port & polish...

Have you looked into simply replacing the filter with a real one, like a K&N? Shopped around for a better carb/rejetting the one you have? Have you upgraded the exhaust with an expansion pipe? High compression head? Have ya tidied up all the manufacturing defects like casting flash on the intake/exhaust - fixed or replaced the poorly made and sometimes restrictive gaskets on those manifolds?

I'm not tryin' to rain on yer parade lol, but there's so many things to do to these motors and I just dunno what you've done so far Porting wont do ya a lick of good if ya haven't attended to the above. The good news is those are all easy, cheap - and have impressive results.

If ya HAVE done alla that and I'm just spouting off again (I do that sometimes heh) here's what ya were lookin' for;
Boost porting the 68cc china engine

The critical first step is cleaning up the intake and exhaust manifolds, making sure the mating surfaces are flush and replacing the gaskets with proper ones.

It's quite common for the stock gaskets to be cut "wrong" for these engines, the diameter of the hole in the middle nowhere near the same as their respective ports.

Stock on the left - modified on the right;

You can see how this would restrict flow if not attended to;

Even the stock exaust pipe suffers from this with the mounting plate port way too small and sloppy welding protruding on the inside, the intake is no different;

Fortunately these motors are incredibly simple, air leaks the biggest performance killer - make sure all gaskets are sealed properly and don't forget to check the torque on the headbolts from time to time.

I'd recommend replacing the stock "filter" with a real one and tending to the sloppiness first. After that I'd recommend the SBP expansion chamber: Sick Bike Parts as it's one of the mods that has the most effect for the least effort.

After alla that's squared away - then we dive inside with the ol' Dremel

Home Run post. Great pics of the exhaust gasket. No matter which exhaust gasket - carve it to fit. Good stuff.

Well - honestly to my great surprise those gaskets were far closer to fitting properly than any other kit I've messed with. A Grubee Skyhawk from Bikeberry, they actually included the ovaled one on the right (conveniently enough for this post's purposes) - although it's still not quite big enough and the intake side was WAY small.

The other kits I've messed with (including another Grubee from Bikeberry) all the manifold gaskets were the "round hole" ones with almost a 1/4" of restrictive overlap and cheap paper to boot - I just made new ones myself. As those are all installed - I cant really take a pic heh

The manifolds themselves are still sloppy as heck tho lol as are the ports, easy 'nuff to fix

I bet 90% of the time such problems are caused by leaks. Just yesterday I heard a "pop" while I was starting it cold, remembered a thread I read here and checked my head bolts.

Sure enough - even though there were no signs of leakage my head had loosened just enough to allow a leak when it was cold. I'd noticed a slight change in performance earlier but had written it off as all two strokes have better days than others lol

I log a LOT of mileage, still it's only every 30 days or so I find I need go around and tune things up - not obsessive tightening which can lead to broken or stripped fasteners, but checking for leaks and the general "time of the month" tuneup.

Have you checked your plug color? What are you runnin' for a oil mix ratio? If you've been puttin' some time on it in that past month it should be starting to run better as the motor gets broken in.

I'd check all seals first
