spark plug

hi,this is a real newbee question but here goes.When putting the spark plug wire on the spark plug it is necessary to remove the brass cap on the spark plug.when the plug wire is attached the wire seems very wobbly and only holding by the lock wires in the spark plug wire.Is this the way it is suppose to be?thanks ahead of time.

you are suposed to untwist the tip of the sparkplug and take off or the cap wont fit tight over it.
