Default quick question:

will a free wheel engine sprocket work with bump start? bicycle engines .com just backordered my sprocket and hub kit for a month, and gave me the option of switching my order over to a freewheel. will it work, or do i have to flip the freewheel, or in worst case, weld the freewheel to a one peice?

Default Re: quick question:

well. if it freewheels, (spins forward) and its the sproket that attaches to the engine itself, then no bump starting. you would need a pull start. I dont see the point in a sproket like that on an engine anyway.

not sure if that answers much for you but freewheels only lock one way. Spin em backwards and they "freewheel"

i think i'll just get and weld the freewheel together. i'd rather do the extra work, than have to wait a month
