A gas engine would be my first choice, and I know it seems impossible to fit on this bike. If it is in fact impossible, it would be still cool to put on a powerful electric motor.

it would work with a rack mount bicycle motor. a nice 4 stroke would be awesome

It would work with some minor mods. Use jackshaft kit and modify lower part of the frame. See attached photo for an idea.
