Free wheeling

Hello, I was just curious as to how free the back tire should spin. I think mine is a bit too restricted and barely turns without the power of the engine. Plus, are there always loud noises with the chain? It seems that mine rattles an awful lot and other similar bikes seem much quicker. I do think that the 80cc is quieter than the 49 high output mine seems to be called.

If your wheel is barley turning with engine power...thier is something wrong.

I can spin my rear wheel by hand and it will go around by itself a few times. I would pull my chain off first to determine that it is the wheel and not the motor.

i had the same problem

when i first put my bike together i did everything right i just got a little over kill on making sure every thing is tight.
on my back wheel i took it of and put the gear on
when i went to put the tire back on i over tightend the bolt on the axle
it was pushing agenst the rim and was making it imposible to move.

im guessing you need to losen the bolts around the axle

Adjust the cones, then re-install the rear wheel without hooking up the chain.

How does it spin? Good? Install the chain and pull the clutch lever in ALL THE WAY don't lock it, hold it in ALL THE WAY. How does the wheel spin now?

Should have slight resistance, but not too bad.

Don't overtighten your chain, (1/2"-3/4" freeplay) use some chain lube or at least motor oil on it.
