External adjustment of the primary clutch spring

Good evening guys,
There is a way to adjust the primary clutch spring externally. So far we have had 4 engines in-house...one of them had a REALLY tight clutch. Tight like others have said they felt like the clutch handle was going to break!
Before I go into a long diatribe with photos and all, I was wondering if this is common knowledge?
I couldn't find the info anywhere in the archives.

I didn't think anything of it at the time. I got in two more engine kits, and we were checking the actuators for fitment, one was REALLY tight!!! I then remembered how the clutch is configured from the disassembly I had done earlier. We adjusted the primary spring and had a normal clutch!

If this info has been missing,
I'll try to put together a description with photos tomorrow.
I usually tend to think that my new found discovery has already been around the block a hundred times.  Maybe this newbie has found something that will help others.

The only adjustment I know of is adjusting the flower nut. Definitely would like some more info. |
