Discussion at Motorized Bicycle Engine Kit Forum in the Motorized Bicycle General Discussion forum. Is the clutch cable the same a standard bicycle break cable? I know it may be a dumb question....

I've used the bike break cable, changed the housing to a Teflon lined housing and placed a plastic spacer in the hollow bolt. This made my clutch feel smoother and less wear and tear on the cable rubbing on metal.

If you pull the cable out of the housing (new) and coat it with grease and slide it back through it works very well. Also old cables, make a funnel out of foil and tape it really tight to the ball end of the housing and hold it upright pour a little oil in the funnel and let it be for an hour it works wonders and you don't have to remove the cable, just from the handle bar.
