Default clutch adjustment

my clutch doesn't disengage the engine, so I haven't started it ever, and I need to transfer it to a new bike that I got, to run it because of geometry issues. So which way do I turn the clutch adjustment screw.
Also anyone in the Seattle area lokin for a 1973 Schwinn Suburban with new tires and in great cond. just tryin to get some price figures, bike is a classic cand I would love to use it but it is very narrow and I don't have time/patience/money/equipment to change that, the bike is campus green and rolls beautifully without the motor, also has new rear wheel.
