Need to find some images to use and some backgrounds.
Then it would be time to Photoshop. |

| | Re: Proposal: Motorized Bikes to be Called "Riquimbili" Hello, a Cuban name (don't consider 1963!), for a totally homemade bike, aditionally a Cuban Home-Made name, un pronounceable by most of the masses, AND not likely to be spelled correctly is the correct name for a "movement" in the USA where English is our primary language?
Never mind that I am fluent in English, and Spanish, (Which MOST Amaricans are NOT) why would this be the right path to whatever you wish to portray?
Re-think, re-assess, and re-group? Hmmm NOT the "3-R's" you may be most familiar with, but perhaps the most logical?
Remember the Alamo!!!

And does anyone remember the name of that BlockBuster?
And, go ahead and use soda bottles for your gas tanks! (oddly not mentioned that was all they could find there?)

| | Re: Proposal: Motorized Bikes to be Called "Riquimbili" LOL, yes Mike you make a good argument for Logic and Proper Order I'll have to agree. But show me where Logic, Proper Order, straight laced, thinking inside the box ever lead a marketing movement or FAD. But I'm sure the accounting department of the revolution would be happy to have you aboard.
Myself and several others here, thought the poor Cuban kids who fought oppression with creavity to steal motors off Soviet Tanks to make rickety homebuilts should get some recognization for their inventiveness. Afterall they don't have Moms to take them to WalMart and buy a Chinese made prebuilt for them with a credit card. Not something I'd think any American kid should be proud of himself for. Unless mommie just wants her baby schnookims to grow up to be a pencil pusher.

| | Re: Proposal: Motorized Bikes to be Called "Riquimbili" Well said eDJ.
Mike, maybe we should all use our premium platinum gold Visas and buy a real expensive made in Taiwan wizza?
Then we'd have t-shirts made saying "Viva the Visa!" or ˇAmo mi moto costosa que mi mama me compró!

who'da thunk the idea of giving motorized bikes some kind of name would get so political?! although i do think that "riquimbili" sort of captures the DIY, shade-tree engineering aspect of the hobby, my proposal was meant in fun and i hoped it might prompt some ideas on a good name for this innovative transportation movement. |
