This Economy Really Sucks!

I was just wondering how this SICK economy is affecting you guys. I just got the word that my son out in Arizona got laid off today. He was an architect for a firm in Scottsdale thats business has pretty well dried up. I can't get laid off, I retired 8 months ago, but if my wife gets laid off things could get really dicey! If I had to go back to work, I certainly wouldn't find anything around here!
How are the rest of you holding up? This is definitely the worst I have seen it in my 59 years!

We've certainly had higher unemployment in the past. We've had worse inflation. Higher interest rates.

A couple things that are bad right now. First and foremost we have a press with no concept acting as spokesmouth for the President. Both are doing a good job of setting free enterprise and "the market" as the bad guy. This can't be good.

Plus we are coming off a RE bubble....that's probably what effected your son the most. We have people in homes that should never, ever bought them in the first place...shame on anyone who qualified and loaned them money and shame on the people for not having the wherewithal to recognize they are just borrowing way too much money. Most mostly shame on the government for acting in that market by pushing home ownership for ALL. Now take all these loans that are worthless and bundle them, put some foo-foo juice and pretty panties on them and hock them, use them for triple layer cake frosting and security for OTHER loans and stand back....

Combine that with inept, greedy, power hungry "representative" politicians with no concepts of leadership, thrift or how business in the USA really works and we are in a real sack of ****.

At some point failure is part of life. Seems like that got lost along the way. "Too big to fail" Love that line!

Personally I'm retired and my wife is going to retire May 1st so it isn't hitting us too hard yet. Guys this is the world economy coming home to roost as well as the things mentioned above. We can't have the highest standard of living in the world if we are shipping all our money to china and around.

Your president promised to renegotiate nafta to save jobs when he was running in Ohio. Now he has decided he doesn't have to do that since he is already elected. I hope someone is keeping track of the campaign promises that are being broken.

I'm worried a little about inflation. Businesses will be raising prices as their sales volume goes down. It's a fact of life. They will be trying to stay in business. But it's a cycle the more they raise their prices the lower their sales. The lower the sales volume the higher their prices have to be to cover the overhead. That's what I personally fear.

I believe it's just going to get worse and it won't be too long before we realize we are in a full blown depression.

I also believe that our president Obama-Nation, it just going to drive this country into the ground!
He'll turn us into the wind of Socialism and we'll just kiss our rights goodbye.

That's just my .002 worth.

You may expect an orchestrated collapse world wide that will encourage a call for a world government and possibly a new world monetary system. Socialist / Facist / Totalitarian = loss of freedom, property and valueless money with all transfering to the state. The rights to Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness are not in the equation of big government. Big government wants only its survival and the beaurocrats in power will push all limits of decency to get more power. Not to worry as God helped this country to become free and will not allow a God fearing and obedient people to totally lose Freedom. People retired or not better wake up to reality, study and pray about what will work and push for those policies to be instigated. These bikes are a symbol of independence and freedom that I enjoy and others of this group value at least as much as I.

That is an interesting picture of George praying.. Did you know he was also a Preacher? He had to be one because he asked for one in the field but his request was denied.. So..Guess who became a Preacher? Yep.. George.. He is the man for sure.. As for the economy.. Well.. My Sister was laid off from Ball Aerospace after 24 years. They gave her 2 hours to get out and walked her to the door.. Too bad too. Another 6 months she would have gotten the full retirement package. But.. Good news to report. There are companies hiring. She got a job with ITT a few months later. Bummer thing is, she had to move to Indiana. But..You do what you have to do. And she did it.

I can tell you this.. I have had my own company for almost 25 years now. The Spending by Bush was out of control. Tax rates with Bush were still way to high. What these new guys in government led by Obama are doing is destructive and counter productive. The new spending with these new guys makes Bush look like a walmart shopper and the Tax increase on the so called super wealthy is a disaster. They have no idea what they are doing or do they? Fact is.. They know exactly what they are doing and they know it is destructive but they do not care. They will redistribute the wealth to our countries destructiveness. And as you can clearly see. IT is working. To raise Taxes on anyone and to increase spending by government in anyway is destructive. Government spending is out of control and tax rates as well. Totally.. We are being taxed and spent to death.. People are losing jobs because of government and because of the loss of jobs the tax revenue for increased taxes can not be paid and will cause everything to crash at an exponential rate. And..As you can see. It is happening at an exponential rate. It is happening. Several States are declaring bankruptcy. CA is the 8th largest economy in the world. Used to be anyway.. And because of the Tax and spend and huge overpowering government there, they are bankrupt. I do not understand this.. CA has billions upon billions upon billions of dollars worth of oil right off its coast.. But the Environmentalists will not let them go and get it. O well.. Let CA go bankrupt and destitute then.. IF they have billions and will not go and get it to save their state.. O well.. Some people are beyond help. There are other states with billions worth in oil. But.. Again.. Environmentalists will not allow it to happen. So.. We send our dollars by the billions out of country for oil. This puts Americans out of work and devalues the dollar . Better than Government Over Tax and over spend is to get the Government to demand and require that a large percentage of oil used to be produced here in USA. Even if it costs more, the over all effect will be positive. We will put millions back to work and keep the dollars here and increase the velocity of money and spending. The effect would be shockingly positive. Anything positive would be great right now. Along with oil, we need other forms of energy and with the lowered tax rates and increased jobs produced by the oil patch, you could use the new tax revenues to pursue wind, Atom, Algae, Solar, natural Gas and more.. All positives. This is what we need and we need it now !!! Stop this Trillion Dollar spending bills insanity. Stop it !! This is killing us and our children and grand children. We can not be burdened with this insanity. Please Stop !! I say.. Demand American Energy !! Demand it now !!! This will pull us out . This is huge and will have a huge positive impact on the country !! IT is a huge positive start !! Start now before it is too late !!
