Oh my,

I was surprised when I first found out that I had made the semi-finals of this contest. I know that the judges probably had a very difficult time deciding on only 5 out of the many beautiful bikes that had been entered. I was honored that they found my entry worthy to be in such august company.

When I looked at each of the other entries I despaired. There was so much skill, craftsmanship and love apparent in each build that I was certain one of them would win. Indeed when I looked at the votes another was leading at the time and I could see why. It was a beautiful bike and I would have loved to have taken it for a ride.

I am not sure why you chose mine but I know that I am grateful. This is the toughest audience. You are all builders too.

I also know that this bike isn’t all me. This very website participated in a real and tangible way in its development and design. Many of you know how you participated and there are so many of you that I will just thank you all now. If I were to attempt to make a list I would be certain to overlook someone.

Like many others I have started to write about my experiences building bikes. I haven’t told anyone about it yet so this seems like a good time. If you are interested you can check it out at Tribridbike.com. My latest project is a little different. It isn’t going to be pretty like the Kingpin at first but I hope it will be functional. Then I can work on making it look nice. I intend to write about all of my bikes so you can see the path I took to find myself sitting here today.

With my jaw on the floor…

Surprised at how much you like my bike…

Thank you for this great honor.

Kind Regards,

Clotho

Congrats Clotho, I really like that bike. I am going to build one with a gas tank like that sometime, I love the way they look. I have one in the basement that has a tank similar to that.
Again, Great Job!

wow, it's hard to pick just one. I like something about all of them. BUT, if I have to pick just one, it's #3.

Clotho I voted for you not just for the way it looks because the Police bike in my opinion is equally as nice. The shift kit is a great addition too along with the gas tank.
But I gave you the vote because aside from the others you have a drum front wheel.
And not to say the others can't stop on a dime Marvin's bike has a disk front wheel it's just to me a drum front brake is tops in my opinion of what safety is especially under wet weather and your rear brake is a disk as well.
Your bike is representive of how all bikes should be built.
This is my opinion and I'm sticking to it!

If I was to grade the other bikes,Spunout gets most original,Retmachinist gets best looking engine,Brettmarvick gets most radical and Marvin Martian gets most comfortable.

So in my eyes you all win!

Thank you very much John. I love the custom parts and all the engine turning (guiloche?, damaskeening?) on your bikes. To me that kind of work screams out, This is quality!

Thanks again for all the kind words everyone.
