Oh my,
I was surprised when I first found out that I had made the semi-finals of this contest. I know that the judges probably had a very difficult time deciding on only 5 out of the many beautiful bikes that had been entered. I was honored that they found my entry worthy to be in such august company.
When I looked at each of the other entries I despaired. There was so much skill, craftsmanship and love apparent in each build that I was certain one of them would win. Indeed when I looked at the votes another was leading at the time and I could see why. It was a beautiful bike and I would have loved to have taken it for a ride.
I am not sure why you chose mine but I know that I am grateful. This is the toughest audience. You are all builders too.
I also know that this bike isn’t all me. This very website participated in a real and tangible way in its development and design. Many of you know how you participated and there are so many of you that I will just thank you all now. If I were to attempt to make a list I would be certain to overlook someone.
Like many others I have started to write about my experiences building bikes. I haven’t told anyone about it yet so this seems like a good time. If you are interested you can check it out at
Tribridbike.com. My latest project is a little different. It isn’t going to be pretty like the Kingpin at first but I hope it will be functional. Then I can work on making it look nice. I intend to write about all of my bikes so you can see the path I took to find myself sitting here today.
With my jaw on the floor…
Surprised at how much you like my bike…
Thank you for this great honor.
Kind Regards,
Clotho
