| | Re: need the plastic wheel for idler someone near you or someone you know has a old skateboard laying around or visit your local roller rink for a old wheel. put a stud through the wheel and chuck it in a drill press and use a old screwdriver to lathe the center of the wheel ( to make a channel about 3/8"-1/2" deep.

| | Re: need the plastic wheel for idler You don't even need a channel in it, just the roller will work fine.

| | Re: need the plastic wheel for idler the skateboard wheel needs a channel or the chain will fall off , it is also a guide for the rear sprocket ; to keep the chain from climbing the rear sprocket!

| | Re: need the plastic wheel for idler If the skateboard wheel is lined up with a straight chain run, no groove is needed as the tensioner only acts as a tensioner, not a chain guide.

| | Re: need the plastic wheel for idler P.S., I usually run my chains on the loose side and never had a problem with the chain climbing the sprocket.
