| | Re: lights using the white wire that really work I found an 1895 lamp housing. I wired it with a single 6volt 15amp bulb and a small toggle switch, both from radio shack. works well. the convex lense is 2 1/2 dia and 3/4 thick. The glass side jewels look cool at night. |

| | Re: lights using the white wire that really work Strap on a mini alternator and a battery.
I replaced many magnetos because people used the white wire.
It kills the magneto alot faster if you are using a bulb with a lot of current/volts.
The white wire is only giving out 5/6 volts.
Try using bright leds. I had a set up on my cruiser and it worked like a charm. |

Harp
you might be right but I've been running my lights for a year now and NO blown ignition systems so maybe you are blowing a little smoke? Same bulb just different housings on my bikes. My bulbs have not caused a problem as far as I know on anyone's bike. Anyone that is using my lights that have a problem put your response on here so I can clear this up.

| | Re: lights using the white wire that really work i put hundreds of miles on my bike with norms light and had absolutly no problems. i used it for work and alot of the miles were after dark and it was brighter and better then any led you could purchase and you dont have the added wieght and battery's to purchase. i used to run 2 led high intensity battery lights and one of normans lights was 3 times as bright as the 2 togather. it was like having a regular head light on the front of the bike |

| | Re: lights using the white wire that really work Wow everyone, I Clearly said that I have not seen Norman's light, And that I have heard good things. If you want to call that blowing smoke, Be my guest. I Only tried to clearly state my own opinion on this website. Last I checked, thats what it was for.. As far as my statement of being worried about useing the white wire for fear of killing the mag, I based my opinion in the threads I have read on THIS WEBSITE. There are riders out there who have posted this info on this wesite, And I read it... What do you expect from a consumer,,
If this is a site for people to learn, share info, and help support the sport, Then telling someone their blowing smoke tells me what they are trying to support, their product..
I Only mentioned Norm's light in an attempt to exclude it from my statement. Not to bad mouth it.. As I said the first time, I have not seen Norm's light, but I have heard good things.
By the way, I formed that opinion from the info on this site too. | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
