| | Re: FairRacing Pic's & Video David - I put a few pic's of some tanks I have. I set them on a bike to see what they would look like. The first is a XR75, then a C110 from the 60's. The last one is on my old Pacific the hanging tank from Dax, but it will only fit a straight bar. I thought of using one from the Honda's but I don't have any place to need that large a tank, we have no place to ride in the city. I am loving your vids keep up the good work. For a wheel the Whizzer is not the one you need, you need a Worksman wheel. I have a Whizzer and the wheels are junk. I would like to see a side pull brake on the front of that thing, I had to install one on my Schwinn in the avatar, I was almost run over, I could not stop. I added a side pull they just use the hole for the front fender, you will have to put two small dents in the fender to clear, works well. Have fun, Dave

| | Re: FairRacing Pic's & Video I have my front brake just been lazy about it...what can I say? I like to live on the edge
I tried to get new wheels from huskybicycles.com and that was a nightmare!!....see my previous post.
Anyways, I am in no position right now to be buying new wheels and thats the reason I had to build my rear wheel.
I will keep the videos & pics coming. Was planning on a trip to the border and the Mount Lemon ride but I will have to keep things close by till my situation gets better.
Yeah, I wish I had a tank that looks a lot better. I had a tank off a 1975 Yamaha GTMX 80 but I have no ideal what happened to it, I cant find it anywhere. |

| | Re: FairRacing Pic's & Video Well, I know I will regret it at the end of the month but I ordered a new rear wheel. It's a steel 26 X 2.125 120g spoke....I sure hope it will fit |

| | Re: FairRacing Pic's & Video I was looking at the wheel on the Whizzer today and do you know that they have it laced wrong, IE inside spokes over outside, all the spokes are bent to accommodate there mistake. The more I look at this thing the more I am disappointed with the craftsmanship. I guess China has no clue what a Motor Bike from the 40's should look like. Good luck with your new wheel. You have to take credit for doing your own lacing, there are not many out there that would have taken that challenge. I have laced a lot of wheels over the years so I know what I am talking about. Have fun, Dave
PS: I should look to see if they knew the difference between inside and outside spokes. LOL

| | Re: FairRacing Pic's & Video HI EGOR, THE ZIPCYCLE IS 25CC WITH A COGGED BELT TO JACKSHAFT WITH A 2" FRICTION DRIVE ROLLER TO REAR WHEEL. I THOUGHT THE REAR TIRE LOOKED BIG ON THE WHIZZER PICTURES I LOOKED AT, CHAIN RUB ! GLAD YOU POSTED THE INFO ON THE WHIZZER SPOKES, ETC. ABOUT 1950 I BOUGHT A WHIZZER REAR WHEEL PULLEY, ABOUT $3.50, PUT IT ON REG SPOKES, THEY WERE NOT HEAVY ENOUGH. ABOUT A MONTH AGO YOU POSTED THE PICS OF THE BOLTED TOGETHER FRICTION RACK. NOW I CAN POST MY PICS , USING THE CLUTCH DRUM BELLHOUSING . I SEE YOUR MODEL A IN THE BACKGROUND ? IS IT A ROADSTER ? LATER, RON

| | Re: FairRacing Pic's & Video Ron, the zipcycle has a good idea using a 2" large roller. It gives a large surface to contact the wheel, but it also makes it more complex with the belt to give it the proper gearing. I have a Vello Solex from the 60's I think my grandfather gave it to me in the 60's and it was older then, has bad tires so it is not usable till I get the special size from the Solex dealer in Utah, it uses a larger roller. You saw the Ford through the mess in the garage, yes it is a Okie Roadster, that is what my dad called it, it is a coup with the top cut off, Dad said they could not afford the extra money (25.oo) to get a real roadster so this is what they used to do. It has a 25 Chevy with a Olds 3 port head, Stromberg down draft on a log manifold, pressure oiling and a lightened flywheel. It has been siting there since he passed away 15 years ago, I need to get something done on that too. Have fun, Dave

| | Re: FairRacing Pic's & Video EGOR, HOW MANY LOADS OF STUFF ARE YOU GOING TO HAUL TO UTAH ? WHEN I WAS A KID WITH A BICYCLE, WOULD PAINT IT WITH 24 HOUR ENAMEL. HARDWARE HANK ?? COULD NOT WAIT FOR PAINT TO DRY, WINDS UP FULL OF SAND AND RUBBED DULL FROM PANTS ! I WONDER IF ANYBODY ELSE HAD PROBLEMS LIKE THAT ? I THINK FAIRRACING ISN`T THAT OLD !! CHEV ENG IN A FORD !! MERCY THE CHEV SMALL BLOCKS ARE SO EASY TO WORK WITH, OIL PUMP BEING IN REAR OF OIL PAN. IT LOOKS LIKE THE WHIZZERS ARE HERE TO STAY , HOPEFULLY !! IT SOUNDS LIKE YOU HAVE A LOT OF PROJECTS. NOW I CAN`T SEEM TO POST PICTURES AGAIN. UTAH - IN HIGH SCHOOL ENGLISH WE HAD TO CHOOSE A SUBJECT AND GIVE A PRESENTATION TO THE CLASS. I THINK I WAS VERY NERVOUS. I CHOOSE TO TALK ABOUT THE MORMONS. EVERY TIME I SAID MORMONS, EVERYBODY WOULD LAUGH. I DIDN`T THINK IT WAS THAT FUNNY !! AFTER CLASS THE TEACHER ASKED ME IF I KNEW WHY THEY WERE LAUGHING. I DIDN`T HAVE A CLUE. HE SAID; YOU WAS SAYING MORONS!! DAH. RON

| | Re: FairRacing Pic's & Video You can't see them but there are 20 motorcycles in there also. I started collecting them years ago. They are all from the 60's just the small ones that we had as kids I just still love them, I worked for Honda as a mechanic through those years. The engine in the Ford is a 170ci four cylinder 1925, Chev never made a V8 till 55. The last 4 was in 28 then the six till 55. Actually the first Chev was a V8 in 1912 but you cant count it, it is so rare. Have fun, Dave
PS: Mom says I am not to take only as much as I need, I can't tell her I need it all.

| | Re: FairRacing Pic's & Video EGOR, OF COURSE YOU NEED IT ALL ! THAT IS WHY YOU BOUGHT IT ! WHY DON`T WIVES UNDERSTAND ? WILL SHE HELP YOU LOAD "YOUR STUFF" WHEN YOU MAKE YOUR MOVE TO UTAH ? WHEN I WAS 17 I BOUGHT A 37 BUICK 4 DOOR WITH DUAL FRONT FENDER MOUNTED SPARE TIRES AND THE EXTRA JUMP SEATS IN THE BACK. THE SELLER HAD A 1912? CHEV TRUCK WITH THE V8, I THINK IT WAS A FIRE TRUCK. WHEN I WAS ABOUT 14 MY GRANDFATHER TOLD ME THE CHICAGO POLICE HAD THE MODEL A`S SOAPED UP TO DO 70 MPH IN 2 GEAR. THEY WERE HISTORY ALREADY BY THEN. GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR MOVE! PACK YOUR TOYS IN SMALL BOX`S AND THEY MAY GO UNNOTICED I HEARD THAT THE MORMONS USED TREAT STRANGERS VERY BADLY IN THE EARLY 1800`S. YOU SHOULD BE OK NOW ! TO LATER MY FRIEND , RON
