alright some one is working on a new school city pounder is what i call them you better hold on tight when you get on the bike for it is going to be the fastest thing you will have ever riden

i drove a 28inch with a 70cc kit top speed stock 50mph keep a good eye on your rim reason the back rim needs to be rebuilt monthly or bimonthly its just to much for the speed rims

I love it wait till the spandex crowd sees this. You have taken the little happy motor to a new level. was it hard to mount the rear sprocket? I like the larger tank you will have a better time with a paint scheme if you chose, it has a better shape, I only have one larger tank. Have fun, Dave

hey, what's the advantage of those wheels with the fewer spokes like yours? i'm starting to see those quite a bit.

ok, so strolling through the forums i just stumbled upon this thread. ive been working on a 700c motorized bike mounted with a single speed setup. ill post pictures when its done. anyeays i saw the comment about fewer spokes and being a bicycle mechanic i guess i can drop my few cents on lesser spokes. having less spokes has become the new fad in bicycling and i have quite a few 20 spoke wheels and even a 10 spokes wheel. the thing with that is metal tecnology has been refining over the years and rim casting has evolved. with the birth of the V rim the v rim is quite strong on its own so it doesn not need the aid of 36 spokes as you would have with most standard bikes. the down side to this though is that with less spokes you lose the finite adjustability of the wheel when it comes to truing the wheel, but you do get a lighter wheel and a stronger one. though it is really only a gimmic. it racing technology and as most of us know racers dont ride the same bike for several thousands of miles. if you want a rock solid reliable wheel a nive deep v wheel with 36 spokes that are 14 gauge spokes and a nice hub. im actually new to the forum so this is my first post i hope it shed a little light.

Not to take away from the achievement, but already been done. rolling resistance is noticeably reduced although comfort is severely sacrificed. looks like it'll be a neat build!

its been a fun build so far i mocked it up on a crap frame and rode it in a snow storm my project frame has the cabling run internally in order to keep a clean look. at least for the brake cables. i just painted the frame and fork yesterday so its looking quite nice in an olive drab green. ill mount a set of black fenders and paint the engine black with high temp paint. im buildind for fun and im building for a bit of style we'll see how it goes as for comfort. i ride a bike 30+ miles a day comfort isnt to big an issue anymore.thanks for the advice it is always highly appreciated. thanks

Or just use fat tires on 700c rims for the best of both worlds?
