Hi all... I just read an article in the online version of the Arizona Republic that features one of your members.

I have an EZ-1 recumbent bicycle that I'm thinking about putting an electric motor on.

Any ideas?

David shows photos of many installsand your bike may be one. I know he has some great installs on some EZ-3 recumbent 3 wheelers.

Welcome Rocky. I live in south Chandler. I was intrigued by the electric kits that have the brushless motor built into the front hub (no belts or rollers), but I doubt it would fit a recumbent, because it comes with a 26 inch wheel. I bought a chinese 2 stroke motor because they are easier to afford and have plenty of range for my 25 mile (each way) commute to work. It is installed on my Univega, but I haven't gotten her to start yet (mainly because I had to go out of town on business this week). Cheers.

Hi Rocky, I live in Phoenix too. I hope you figure out a way motorize your recumbent soon so we can go for a spin! I have my bike and engine coming tomorrow.

Scot figured this one out and it is more complicated than necessary but very nice. He commutes about 16-20 miles each way I think. PM him and he may have some ideas.
