Default Hey all

I am new here. I have a mongoose mountain bike I am planning on modifying. I was thinking a chainsaw engine with a clutch. Not sure if that will be underpowered or not. Also I want to keep the functionality of my pedals. This will be a low budget build so I don't plan to go crazy, but any suggestions and help is welcomed. Thanks for the input.

Welcome to the fun!
I remember reading about a chainsaw bike on this forum and they did a good job of making that thing go.

Thanks. Yea I was thinking chainsaw or weed whacker, but the chainsaw engine would sit more flush with the frame. I don't want a big tumor on the bike, just something small that will keep moving me fast once I get going. I want to be able to hop up and off of curbs around school so I don't have to take the long way around.

I just bought this bike so I'm gonna start tearing it down and stripping unnecessary things. Reflectors and stuff. I used to ride bmx brake-less, but I am gonna keep the rear brake. Gonna see if there is a way to stiffen the rebound of the front damper as well. Then take some measurements and do some research.
