Welcome Brains, good looking bikes. My chain tensioner works great, has about 3" of travel, and like you said can be adjusted by moving up or down on the seat tube...

Great concept Misteright, going to machine up my own design which will incorporate adjstable travel to take up further slack as chain stretchs, similar system on motorcross bikes rear wheel adjustment, this way you will not need to slide the bracket up the seat tube, will probably weld mount on seat tube for attachment, will incorporate this idea on the Stingray & see how it goes

I think you will like it, no matter what istallation method you choose.
With a quality #41 chain, which is what I put on with tensioner, I dont think you will have any stretch, I havent. I have not had to adjust it since installation, approx 300 miles... Keep us posted....
