you can use a hose or rubber boot that fits around the carb and mount a filter to that. you can face the hose to the left,right or up or down.

That is clever, Get a hose that fits the ID of the Carb. I like that, you know where they can be found? in any autoparts store?

i used a rubber boot from a bike front shock,but you may find one at a autostore or other stores that carry hoses.
im going to try a vacuum cleaner hose.
