That's where I'm at - plus with a gasket you can do the Norman aluminum paint trip.....but hey if no gasket works - fine by me.

The thing I hate about the durn gaskets is they don't fit perfect on good studs.

He's done a few posts on it....basically coat the gasket with "cheap" (his word) aluminum paint. But it must contain aluminum flake. I got a spray can (made sure of the ingredients) even though I had a crusty old brush can....

So I just bomb canned the gasket and put it on wet. (Norman says wet or dry). So far good seal even though I'm re-using my used gasket.

I may get paranoid and buy some spare head gaskets just in case.

I guess I'm just too old for no gaskets.....I mean atleast use anerobic form a gasket or something, Metal to metal just don't sound right. But if works Great.

Yes. There is a separate thread about it somewhere. I lapped it on progressively finer wet paper on glass.
