Default Carburetion question

Hi
When driving my MB (stock carb, needle clip in second notch from top), I accelerate to 1/3 and it responds quickly
Nice cruise speed
But if I 'floor' it, bike keeps the same speed...
I have two ideas
1. Intake/exhaust is so restrictive that more carb area is useless
2. Needs more gas (jet size or needle clip position)
I would like to know your opinions
Thanks in advance

I HAD THE SAME PROBLEM AND MY FIX WAS, THE METAL SLEVE THAT COMES OUT OF THE THROTTLE HANDLE UNSCREW THE SLEVE ALMOST TO THE END AND TIGHTEN THE LOCK NUT. AND MINE WAS ALL BETTER.

I THINK THE HIGH IDLE/WOT ADJUSTMENT IS MADE AT THAT SLEVE ON THE THROTTLE AND THE LOW IDLE IS MADE WITH THE IDLE SCREW ON THE CARBURATOR. THATS HOW I LOOK AT ANYWAYS. I COULD BE WRONG. BUT MINE WORKED AFTERWORDS.

The stock carb will only flow soooo much air and gas and thats all your going to get out of it. I would check the intake and exhaust manifolds and match them and the gaskets to the engine, that improves flow. I installed a larger carb along with a tuned pipe and got a much better running and smoother engine.
