Hit a harsh speed bump at 30, front tire went wild, rear tire caught bump, shot the back of bike into the air. Bystanders said the bike rode the front tire and the handlebars for about 15-20 feet. I got thrown off, smacked my head on the pavement, im so glad i wear a full face helmet. landed rite in the side of my head first, followed by my palms arms getting rashed up. Hip sore, and big bruise on my leg.

Bike sustained a twisted gooseneck, ground down brake/clutch levers, racked the gas tank sideways, little rip in the seat. I have to fix it all as soon as the swelling in my right palm goes down.

This just happened tonight BTW, in all im in good spirits and understand how dangerous this hobby can be. Even still ive found this post most amusing....

Unhappy Re: How did you get injured on your motor bike?

Here is a wierd one My wife went to a revival in Lakeland Fl. where healing was commonplace. She was gone a week. Just before she came home, my 50 yr old son called on a Friday and said his balloon tire got out from under him and he rammed his leg down to catch himself and broke his tibia. The following day my 47 yr. old daughter called to say she had to lay her bike down at 23 mph to keep from T-boning some idiot on a Hardly that had pulled into the pathway and stopped. She rang her bell although wearing a helmet and got some asphalt rash. Then to round it off, my wife's darn rat terrier who wouldn't eat or drink with her gone crawled under the bed and died hours before she arrived. Yes the Devil is alive and well.

The tire didn't come off. He was used to skinny tires and hadn't had the balloon tired Kia very long. Trying to go over a rise obliquely and it got out from under him. He is a phenominal uni rider and M/C wheelie expert, Side saddle etc. It just happened.

painted things on the street like turn arrows are very dangerous when wet as well as metal things like manhole covers and metal bridges when wet. Stay off the front brake when turning in rain on slippery things.

I went around a blind turn on the wrong side of the street and nearly didnt live to tell about it. The combined speed of the truck and me in a last minute head on was nearly light speed. I was heading right for his radiator. He saw me and didnt try to move. I think he sped up. Either he knew he had the right of way or was just having a bad day or i just dont know what. I hit his mirror with my shoulder and broke my clutch lever but somehow didnt become road pizza under the massive tires. What I want to warn you all is it happened so fast. Way too fast. I called him an ******* and kept riding because I was in shock. Talk about adrenaline. Also I didnt want to get in a fight with a redneck when I just lost a fight with his truck

1st of all you shouldnt have called him anything but sir! you was in the wrong , not him! by driving in the wrong lane and especially in a blind turn you were very lucky to even type your post in this forum! as MBers we need to pay attention to what were doing to make sure were following the rules of the road and keep a good name for ourselves so that we all may still ride free when we want! as the driver of the vehicle , in his view how would you like to live with yourself everyday that you ran over someone on a motorized bike who was probably traveling faster than he should have then it was too late! your accident could have been worse, far worse than it did! if anything an apology should have been given and a offer to repair his mirror and to let him know that you was O.K instead of him thinking you may be hurt worse! because you created this situation for yourself and know that ,that person will tell 2 people , which then that 2 people will tell 8 people and so forth will have created a bad rap for all MBers!
