Hi:
Im working on my motorized bike, it has no spark. The first thing i did was buy a new CDI, still no spark. So my next move is to buy a magneto, so my question was if i buy a magneto should i buy a magneto magnet as well or do the magnets last longer.
Thanks

Carb and idle issues

I finished installing it yesterday, started up fine and rode it for 20 mins or so. After riding for a couple minutes i noticed a lot of gas dripping from under the air filter so i turned off the gas and tried to run the engine to get all the excess out. Then turned the gas back on and it started dripping again. So i took off the air filter to see where the leak was and its coming out of a little hole to the bottom right of the hole that the air goes through(the hole the choke covers). Is this normal? As soon as i turned the gas line on it would start pouring out of that hole. I put it back together and rode some more turning the gas line on and off so that it wouldnt leak. Also i am using the choke almost exclusively for throttle because the throttle doesnt make much difference. When i pull in the clutch to stop the engine races and i have to close the clutch all the way for the engine to shut off then i can peddle to start again and use the choke to accelerate. So baisically i have a few questions:
1. Is fuel supposed to come in next to the air filter through a small hole?
2. How do i adjust the throttle so that it works?
3. Why is the engine racing when clutch is engaged?
4. If something wrong with the float and how would i check that?

Thanks, i know its a lot but all help is greatly appreciated

Pedal Vibes. ~ Seat too ....

My Apologies if this has been covered in the past. But I'm NO good at Searching for answers when I really need them. So, I ask here tonight.

I have 2 Bikes. One I built myself and another that I bought.

The one I built runs and feels Great going down the road, but the older bike I bought Vibes me in the ass on the seat and my feet on the pedals. And I mean BAD! I Love the looks of the Custom Cruiser that I bought, but the vibes (in the pedals especially) are enough to almost make me want to sell it off.

OK, so I'm not about to sell off my custom cruiser. She's just to good looking of a bike to give up on. But may I ask....

How might I go about correcting the Vibes in the Pedals and the Seat? I won't ride the cruiser very often, but when I do want to take her out I'd like to not shake up my feet on the pedals. FWIW, I have an idea on how to replace the seat to correct this issue, but I'm really wondering about the Pedals.

Anyone have any Helps on this issue?

hello all. ive been riding my 80cc motor i bought used from ebay for almost 7 months with no probs . my mistake was i ordered 80 cc piston rings and installed them . i droped my cyclinder and did not notice a hair line crack. so when i put it together and started it the piston froze. i tried to take it apart and broke the piston when i was knocking it out. so i had a broken piston and cycinder . so i borrowed both parts from another 80 cc motor .. there the same diameter but the new piston is taller and hits my head. what do i do to find a new piston and jug for this motor ?

I figured out the warp in my rear sprocket it was the outer rag joint. I took that out and it is flat but I may hafe inverted the chain do you think this would make it start makin poppin sound like when you back up? I have the thicker 410 chain N sprockets. I haven't taken it for a spin yet just short distance.

I also noticed the bearing is missing in the clutch as well as the washer under the barrel in the carb. My spark plug looks good so I guess the needle pretty much stays in place with gravity.

I'm having trouble with my tube slipping inside my tire. I use quality rim strips and keep the tires at the proper PSI...but... my valve stem creeps from it's 90 degree position. I'm concerned that the rim will cut the stem.

I've deflated the tube and corrected it but....it slips back!!

Any ideas on how to combat this? It happens on the front and rear tire.

80cc Slant head install, now issues :(

OK...So i installed my slant head on my happytime motor today. It started on the 2nd or 3rd pull. GREAT! It sounded nice and throaty, idled nice, etc etc.

I let it warm up and took it for a spin. HOLY JEEZ! This thing took off like i wasnt even on it.

I got about 1 mile down the road and noticed if im in a higher gear (numerically) and i gassed it full throttle, it seems like i have a whole lot more carb noise.

Normal?

next thing:

I brought it back home and parked it to recheck my head nuts. They were fine and tight.

I let it cool had some lunch, then went to go again.

Now, it wont start. And im lifting the bike up while pulling on the start cord when im sitting on it. It turns over, but the pull is so intense that it really really hurts my hands. Im no weak person either (22 years old, bike mechanic, etc etc...im used to using my hands).

A couple times it would backfire...which clued me to check for spark.

Yeah, i have spark....i laid the spark plug on the head with the plug wire attached and pulled. It is sparking.

I have fuel because i primed it so much that fuel started coming out of the primer button (only when i pumped it, not constantly)

I checked the spark plug and it was wet.

So what do i do now?

I have spark, fuel and air....but no go....:-||

Hey all,

Ive only been on this site for only a day, but Ive already learned so much. Thank god I stumbled across this community.

Anyway, I have an 80cc kit that I bought from BoyGoFast over a year ago and have not had any sustained success with at all. I understand that this is not such an uncommon problem with this particular brand.

Ive read the first thing to check is fuel delivery and then from there on to spark, and what great advice that was because the problem turned out to be no spark. Do you all have any suggestions on the best way to ground the plug while testing it? I want to be positive this is the problem and not that I have tested incorrectly.

Ive learned from my reading here that the most common cause for no spark is a shot magneto. I tested my CDI and it read 348 ohms, the ideal number as Ive read. Does this mean that the CDI unit is definitely not the problem?

If it is the magneto, I was hoping that someone would be willing to sell me one or two as I might want an extra if the blow as common as it sounds. I am in Gainesville Florida if someone close by can help.

Thank you all for reading and any help you may be able to offer.

Okay, I know you can adjust the clutch by moving the adjustment screw on the Clutch Lever, by moving the adjustment screw above the motor, and by pulling in the slack from the clutch line screw. But WHERE, Please, is the reference to adjusting the Star Screw behind the clutch cover, the one with the small lock screw. For the life of me I can't seem to find this reference but in 1 place, and it litterally contradicts itself between one line and the next.

Also, when looking at my maintenance guide, it refers to a Carb Screw that should be screwed all the way in, then 4 1/2 turn back out. Is this the Idle screw, the screw under the reserve, or something else?

Pleaze Help, as I am slowing going insane zpt

The motor is failing on high rpm

Hi guys..

Since the motor have 2000km, i decided make some maintenance on the motor. Piston rings, polish the cylinder, did the flange mod, some RSV high temperatura as sealant on base gasket, and did some runs.
The fact is that this chick never was the same, since i opened the motor. I could run in flat @ 50km/h, now 40km/h with lots of effort...climbing a hill could past 40km/h..now 33 or 34km/h.

The acelleration on low rpm, i think is the same, but in medium, high rpm, the motor is really creepy, with 4 stroke sound :(

The carb has some leaks that i cannot close (i think that's is on the little fuel pump, but i dont know how i fix it)

I tried one bing 16mm, and no more leaks, the idle is really really perfect, and the aceleration was awesome (with cluth on) but when i take a ride (cluth off) the motor fails...i really dont know why :S

I tried one bing 16mm, and no more leaks, the idle is really really perfect, and the aceleration was awesome (with cluth on) but when i take a ride (cluth off) the motor fails...i really dont know why :S

well my bike was running fine for a while til i noticed a crack in the side of my ignition coil from over tightening it. After a while of rain and moisture from sitting out over night ( i kept it covered with a tarp most of the time), my motor started acting funny then quit running. i bought a new igniton coil butit didnt fix the problem. I pulled my spark plug out connected it to the wire and grounded it to the cylinder head and it seems like it isnt spark as much as it should. i opened my cover to the magnetos and it had a brown residue ver the coil inside of it. anyways, my motor kit was the RAW 80/66cc and it lasted about 2 months of some rather hard riding and the occational abuse of burnouts on smooth wet cement. also it seems to kind of catch every 3/4 turns of my back wheel, i theck my brake axle and wheel they are all in good condition, and no abnormal wear or rubbing anywher im fairly certain its something inside the motor.

here how i ran it

32:1 (4oz. per gallon)
i ride full throotle alot but i back offregularly and blow it out/ purge exhaust by clutching it and wrapping it a few times.

also whats the difference of a slant/ angle firehead versus stock, aside from angling plug. does it improve performance??

PS- I just ordered an 80/66cc BGF kit with slant head and pull start off ebay. are those kits better quality then the RAW kits??
