The cops don't seem to care that a lot of bikers ride thier "regular" bikes on the sidewalks here, but I sure wouldn't do it on my motorized bike.

I think I'm trying to say, some may get cut some slack on bicycles, but the engine always draws attention, good and bad.
I totally agree! The only time I ever ride on the sidewalk is with the engine off...
Whenever I do a questionable manuver, I look for the police & other motorists first, then I'll usually pedal it just to be sure!

My point was, that it makes no sense to sit & wait 10 minutes for a red light when a person on a ordinary bicycle could get away with just going around it.
(just pedal it like a bike while doing it)

My new thing to do whenever I see a cop now, is to pedal the bike a lot further to take off, or slow down enough to pedal it a bit , so they see that it's really just a bicycle...
So far it's been working because I haven't been stopped in a few weeks.
They see me pedaling it & just keep going.
