Waste of money. You could hook up a speaker magnet, or a big chunk of your favorite metal and save the money.

The thing that triggers the light is metal in proximity to the loop that's under ground.
You can try putting your kickstand down right at the "seam", preferably where the seam goes toward the side of the road.

In Ohio, that is considered a "malfunctioning traffic signal and is to be treated as a four way stop".
