I went and searched - basically the ones with enough AW agents, aren't high enough viscosity to help much. None of them have EP (extreme pressure) additives for real gear protection.

What problems did they have with motor oil?
After looking at the gear box I think something like this would work:
AMSOIL - Severe GearĀ® Synthetic Off-Road and Drag Racing Gear Lubricant SAE 250 (SRT)
